Multimodal and correlated imaging

Investigator: M. Hain

The Institute of Measurement of the Slovak Academy of Sciences was in 2020 as part of two European COST projects focusing on multimodal and correlated imaging methods. The first of them is focused on multimodal imaging in the field of forensic science – project COST CA16101 “Multi-modal imaging of forensic science evidence – tools for forensic science (MULTI-FORESEE)” and the focus of the second project COST CA17121 “Correlated Multimodal Imaging in Life Sciences ( COMULIS) ”is portrayal in the life sciences. Researchers from the Institute of Informatics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences developed several imaging methods within the projects, namely X-ray microtomography, X-ray microscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, infrared reflectography and ultraviolet-induced fluorescence. The achieved results are applicable in several scientific disciplines, such as biology, paleontology, mineralogy, materials and forensics.
