Analysis of noise and vibration impact on the human physiology and psychology during scanning in the low field MRI equipment

Annotation:
Analysis of energy relations of noise and vibration in the open-air and whole-body MRI devices (open-air E-Scan Esaote Opera and whole-body TMR96) in terms of their potential physiological as well as psychological effect on investigated persons in dependence on the intensity and duration of exposure. The concerned factors include changes in blood pressure and heart rate – detected in the sensed photoplethysmographic (PPG) signal, or differences of vascular vessels detected from MR images of the human hand, and increase in the stress factor evaluated from the speech signal recorded in parallel.
The applicant is expected to have knowledge of the theory of vibration and acoustic noise, basic human physiology, numerical methods for signal and image processing and the ability of Matlab programming. During study the PhD student will extend his/her knowledge in the areas of biomedical signal measurement and sensing, medical imaging methods, acoustics, statistics, etc.
