Research activities of the Institute of Electrical Engineering SAS

We invite you to a lecture by RNDr. Vladimir Cambel, DrSc., Director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering SAS, which will be 12.12.2019 (Thursday) at 10:00 am. in the meeting room of IMS SAS. Dr. Cambel will present the research and development activities of the Institute and the management system for achieving excellent results of the Institute of Electrical Engineering.

Abstract

Research activities and management of the Institute of Electrical Engineering SAS

In the first part of the lecture, the Institute of Electrical Engineering SAS will be introduced,  its departments, projects, production, strategic plan and future visions. The Advisory Board of the Institute and the benefits it brings to the management and staff of the Institute will be presented. The seminar participants will be acquainted with the basic principles of work at the Institute. The second part of the lecture will be devoted to magnetic nanoobjects and methods of their imaging using magnetic force microscopy. Some results obtained in this area at the Department of Physics and Technology of Nanostructures IEE SAS will be shown.

RNDr. Vladimir Cambel, DrSc. graduated in physics and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Science of the Comenius University in Bratislava. For two years he worked at the Joint Nuclear Research Institute in Dubna, since 2000 he has been working at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, first at the Department of Optoelectronics and then head of the Department of Nanostructure Physics. In 2013, he defended his academic degree DrSc. Vladimír Cambel is involved in international grant research (UK, USA), is the head and manager of domestic scientific grants (APVT, APVV, VEGA) and Structural Fund projects. During his research, he undertook several research stays abroad (Germany, USA).
