Guest Lecture at Our Institute: From Mathematical Equations to Patient-Specific Cardiac Models
Within the Mobility Visit Programme of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, we had the opportunity to host Dr. Jorge Sánchez Arciniegas, who delivered a guest lecture entitled
“Mathematical Modelling of Cardiac Electrophysiology: From Equations to Patient-Specific Predictions.”
Dr. Sánchez shared inspiring insights into how mathematical modeling, numerical simulations, and computational methods can be combined with medicine and biophysics to deepen our understanding of cardiac function. His talk highlighted not only the theoretical foundations of cardiac electrophysiology models but also their growing importance in patient-specific predictions and personalized medicine.
The lecture was interdisciplinary and it addressed topics relevant to researchers and students interested in computer modeling, simulations of biological systems, and the quantitative analysis of complex biological processes.
We sincerely thank Dr. Sánchez for visiting our institute and for an inspiring and thought-provoking lecture.
