Exploring physical basis of electromagnetic field interactions with biomolecules, cells and tissue

Other International Project

Project duration: 01/2015 – 12/2017

Principal investigator: Mgr. Michal Teplan, PhD.

Co-operating institutions: AS CR

This project is focused on theoretical and experimental characterization of electromagnetic properties of biosystems from the level of subcellular biomolecular structures to a tissue level. The intention is to gain more information about the biological response to electromagnetic fields in a wider range of frequencies. New approaches will be developed for obtaining electromagnetic characteristics of subcellular/cellular structures and tissues with direct path to diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Methods for measurement and modelling of the biological response of various biosystems to external application of electromagnetic fields will be examine. Building of electromagnetic stimulation and monitoring system based on impedance spectroscopy will serve for investigation of electrical and other physiological properties of biosystems.
