Brain activity in dependence on projected audiovisual stimulation

8.6.2012

We invite you to a seminar of the Department of Theoretical Methods, IMS SAS and Institute of Informatics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic: entitled  "Brain activity in dependence on projected audiovisual stimulation" that will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2012 at 10:00 in the lecture room of the IMS SAS in Bratislava. The lecturer is Ing. Martin Vejmelka, PhD. ( Institute of Informatics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic).

Abstract:

Basic research in neuroscience in the author's Institute in cooperation with the PHD, a.s. medial agency will be introduced.

The research is oriented to description of brain activity measured by functional magnetic resonance during the projection of czech TV programs and searching the differences between the programs.

The experinments will be explained, selected results of the research will be presented and their possible applications will be discussed.

The results are of three basic types: activation (a measure of activity of different brain areas), inter-subject synchronization (a measure of brain activity tuning on the story) and functional connectivity (mutual communication between brain areas)
