(<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:andrej.krafcik@savba.sk\">andrej.krafcik@savba.sk<\/a><strong>)<\/strong><br \/>\nExternal educational institution: <strong>Institute of Measurement Science SAS<\/strong><br \/>\nAccepting university: <strong>Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Institute of Electrical Engineering <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Annotation:<\/h2>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Automated identification and segmentation of clinical data, obtained primary by MRI, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is very desirable. The reason is typically large size of data and therefore enormous time, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">which radiologist has to invest into the manual segmentation. Availability of power<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ful <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">hardware open new capabilities to automate this processes and speedup via deep <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">learning techniques using convolutional neural networks (CNN). Therefore, student <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">will learn the fundamental functionality principles of MRI device (theoretically and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">practically), try manual segmentation of volumetric MRI data, and theoretically and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">practically learn principles of CNN. Student will design own architecture of CNN for <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">automated segmentation of volumetric data, further train, validate and implement on <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">testing data.<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The output of this dissertation should be a CNN capable of deployment in clinical prac<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">tice, in the diagnosis and quantitative analysis of selected tissues (cartilage, ligaments, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">tendons, menisci, subcutaneous fat, etc.). I<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">t is theoretical work, in which programming basics and knowledge of some prog<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ramming language are necessary.
